Before you book
Check your coverage in four questions.
A quick call or app check with your insurer before your first session saves surprises later. Here's what to ask.
- 1
"Do I have coverage for a Registered Psychotherapist?"
Plans list this as "psychotherapist", "RP" or under mental health practitioners. Coverage for RPs is common.
- 2
"What’s my annual maximum?"
Many plans cap mental health coverage per year, and some also limit the amount per session.
- 3
"Do I need a doctor’s note?"
You don’t need a referral to see me, but some plans ask for one before they’ll reimburse.
- 4
"How do I submit receipts?"
Most insurers take claims online or in an app. You’ll get a detailed receipt for every session.
